Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Our Christmas celebration started a week before Christmas when Steve and Jeanette came home. As always, it was very nice to see them. It turns out they had the same idea as Santa when buying Josh's present. They got the exact same thing as Santa - a push around buggy! As some of you may know, Josh got a lawn mower for his birthday. Greg made the mistake, one night, and sat Josh on top of the lawn mower and pushed him around the family room. Of course Josh thought that was the best thing ever! He didn't want to push the mower around anymore, he wanted to ride it. Take a look....
So Santa (aka Mommy and Daddy) thought the push around buggy would be the best gift (and turns out so did Steve and Jeanette). Needless to say Mommy and Daddy had to figure out alternative Santa gifts. I must admit I was disappointed that Josh wouldn't come downstairs Christmas morning to what we had originally planned, but it all came together in the end and Josh had a great Christmas! Greg and I also had a great Christmas. We enjoyed visiting with all of our family and friends.
Greg's Birthday and Our Trip to NYC!
Greg and I went to New York City with our friends Melissa and Andy to celebrate Greg (15th) and Andy's (17th) birthdays. We had such a good time being tourist! Go to our picture website and check out the pictures from our trip.
15 Months Old!
Josh hit the 15 mo. milestone last Friday. It is so hard to believe that much time has passed already. He is no longer a Baby and is now a Toddler for sure. He is very outgoing, curious, and sweet!
Josh's Room
One night last week we put Josh to bed for the night and he obviously wasn't tired enough to go to sleep right away as we could hear him, over the monitor, taking and making noise. Greg decided to go up to check on him and to see if he could rock him to sleep. When he entered the room, he found Josh holding the electrical cord to the lamp and he was playing with it. The electrical outlet was next to his crib. Needless to say we had to rearrange his room last weekend. His bed is now away from things that are harmful!
Talk, talk, talk, talk, talk.....
Josh is learning new words and talking up a storm. We may not know what he is saying, but once he figures out the English language, I'm afraid he will talk our ears off. I was trying to figure out how many words he knows and so I thought I would make a list: Mama, Dada, Ball, Car, Football, Stuck, Buckle, Book, Bottle, Box, Duck, Maura, Bird and Tickle. Random list! :-) I'm sure there's more, but that's what I can remember right now.
Dad
Dad went for a follow-up appointment to the surgeon this week and, bad news, he has to have surgery again. February 10 - they will take some soft bone out of one knee and put it into his arm and try to remove some scar tissue. He will be placed on a machine that will move his arm (bend and straighten) for 21 hours per day. This is something he will have to take home and continue to do (not sure for how long). This is a major set back and sounds really painful. Please keep him in your prayers!
