Long Time No Blogging

Busy Busy Busy...

I’ve had so much going on lately that I haven’t found the time to sit down at the computer and write. Since the last time I updated, Josh went for his 18 mo. check up, back to the orthopaedic doc and to get his braces checked. His pediatrician was impressed by his language skills and thinks he is doing great. His stats in May were:

Oops! I can't find them - to be updated later.

We went to see Dr. Tuten (the orthopaedic surgeon) on May 25 and got some discouraging news. They took x-rays of his legs and there hasn’t been any change since the first x-ray, before the braces. The doctor was hoping and expecting to see some change by now, but told us to continue doing the same thing for the next four months, he will take more x-rays in September and re-evaluate then. Josh is becoming more aware of the braces and is more reluctant to put “those shoes” on. It’s hard! I guess all we can do is continue to pray that the treatment of the braces will work eventually.

Josh still loves to be outside and wants to play outside every chance he gets. Luckily the playground near our house is designed in a way that is easy for him to play while wearing his braces. We go there a lot! Right now he has two favorite things and those are Handy Manny (and his talking tools) and Mickey Mouse. The boy loves fruit and can’t seem to get enough of watermelon right now. Another constant that he asks for on a regular basis is yogurt. He still has 3 more teeth trying to come in that bother him off and on. He loves to sleep (Yay – he takes after me) and is generally very happy. Another piece of “Josh trivia” is he hates to be without shoes on his feet. He even insists on putting shoes on over his footed PJ’s sometimes. It’s ridiculous (he takes after Greg with this one), it’s pretty funny.

Last weekend Josh was napping in the car and this is how I found him when I looked back...
A few weeks ago we took Josh to the Children’s Museum for the first time and he had a blast. There were several meltdowns leaving each exhibit going to the next, but besides that it was great. We can’t wait to go back! Here are a few pictures from our trip:
