Eleven weeks ago I made a life changing decision and enrolled in a weight management program at a local health clinic (Zacharias Ganey Health Institute, aka "ZG"). The WM program was 10 weeks long and included 1 medical lecture and 3 structured workout sessions with a trainer per week. I am proud to report that at the end of the 10 weeks I lost 15 pounds and 21 inches.
I have to thank my family for making this commitment with me. Greg has been a wonderful support system and as a family we are making healthier decisions. We now only shop the perimeter of the grocery store and eat a LOT of fresh fruits and veggies. I feel better than I have in years. I have a long way to go but I know I’m headed in the right direction.
I’m currently getting my butt kicked 3 days a week at the ZG gym and I’m working out during my lunch hour at my work gym the other 2 days. Next Saturday I’m going to start Zumba. I can’t wait!
I found a great calorie counting website – www.MyFitnessPal.com. It allows you to track your daily caloric intake, water intake, and exercise. Check it out!
Greg is currently training for the Rock 'n' Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon in September. I admire his determination and strength. I know that he will do a great job! It’s actually going to be a family affair! Greg, Kristen, Steve, Jeanette, Doots and Morgan are all running. If I missed anyone – Sorry! Josh and I will be at the finish line with our noise makers and our best cheering voice.
