I can only blame my computer virus for half of the time that I have neglected to update this blog - - the other half of the time, well that’s completely my fault. I feel like there is so much to talk about, so here’s the update:
BRACES
Last Friday Josh slept in late and I only had about 10 minutes to get him up, dressed and out of the door so I decided to give him a FREE day. He got to wear his "fast shoes"! He might as well have taken a knife and stabbed me in my heart, because we were getting ready to leave the house and he looked up at me and said "I get to drive the car at school today!". They have a gym at school with cars, bikes, slides, etc. for the kids to play with. When he is wearing his braces, he isn't able to get into the cars and drive them around because he can't bend his knees. He was so excited and that's all he talked about for the entire weekend. You would have thought I had reached into the sky and plucked out the moon and handed it to him. Monday as we were getting ready for the day - - he cried hysterically when we put the braces on him. Same thing on Tuesday, Wednesday and today. :( I know that he won’t remember any of this, but I will. It’s just heartbreaking to see him get so emotional every day. I pray that we can get through the next two months without any long lasting physiological damage.
HAT DAY
One day a couple of weeks ago was “hat day” at preschool. Josh wanted to wear his fireman hat. Greg even chose his outfit for the day so that it would match his hat! Reluctantly, he let me take his picture before school.
He came home with what he calls his “roar” hat. He likes to put it on a roar us down. That requires us to fall out in the floor. LOL He is a riot! Such a great imagination.
CHILDREN’S MUSEUM
In January we decided to get a membership to the Children’s Museum of Richmond. What a fantastic place for children to learn, discover and have fun. There are two museums in Richmond. The newest one located not far from our house, in Short Pump. This one is more geared toward the younger kids and it’s perfect for Josh right now. He especially loves this one because it has a train!
JOSH SAYS THE DARNDEST THINGS
Greg and Josh were outside one night this week and as they were walking up the stairs of the deck to come inside, Josh hands Greg his sippy cup full of lemonade and says “here, hold my beer”. Too funny, right? Funny thing is we aren’t big drinkers, so its not like he sees us drinking beer all that often. I tell ya, he doesn’t miss a thing. Whether it something he sees OR hears. We have to be on our toes always.
