For about 3 months now we (mostly me - "Mommy you lay here") have either had to rock Josh to sleep or lay on the floor beside his crib until he falls asleep at night. I'm not really sure why that all started, but it did. Anyway, Sunday night I decided that we needed to change that habit so I told him he was going to be a big boy and go to sleep by himself. We put him to bed and went downstairs. As I was listening to him talk and sing over the monitor I heard "I want to get out of my bed." I never heard much noise, but he did whimper a little so I headed up to check on him and when I reached the top of the stairs he is standing there crying. He didn't hurt himself, however, I think it scared him. Monday night same thing happened and Tuesday morning he got up and out by himself as well. So last night we converted the crib to a toddler bed.
It didn't go so well. He kept falling out of the bed! I'm trying to find one of those safety guard rails, however, I'm having a hard time. I can't find anything in a store and the earliest I can get one shipped is next Friday (without paying an arm and a leg in shipping costs). We put down a bunch of pillows and eventually Greg just slept on the floor with Josh. Hopefully tonight will be a little better.
